• Three graduate students (Seoeun Choi, Joonhee Kim, and Minjeong Im) were presenting their ongoing research.

• Minjeong Im was awarded Best Post Presentation by KMS

• Sang-Moo Lee visited Danish Meteorological Institute (DMI), in Copenhagen, Denmark

• He gave a presentation on his recent research about the effort of constructing reference sea ice concentration data from Landsat-8 imagery.

• DMI scientists and Prof. Lee promised a solid relationship between them to make a collaboration.

• Sang-Moo Lee and Ji-Soo Kim attended the EUMETSAT 2024 conference held in Bremerhaven, Germany

• Postdoctoral researcher, Ji-Soo Kim gave her oral presentation during the conference.

• Professor Sang-Moo Lee won the research achievement award by College of Natural Sciences, Seoul National University.

24 July 2024

• Dr. Xu Liu, a senior research scientist at NASA Langley Research Center, visited SML.

•  We had a seminar with seven presentations by SML students and postdoc. Dr. Liu gave invaluable comments.

• Dr. Liu also gave a department seminar entitled "Development of Radiative Transfer Models and Retrieval Algorithms for Satellite Remote Sensors".

• Sang-Moo Lee and Seoeun Choi attended the 11th Workshop of International Precipitation Working Group (IPWG-11) held in Tokyo, Japan.

• Graduate student, Seoeun Choi gave her poster presentation during the workshop.

• Dr. Jiseob Kim who is a postdoctoral researcher at Yonsei University visited SML. 

• Dr. Kim gave a department seminar with the title of "Realistic microphysical representation in microwave radiative transfer modeling for enhanced accuracy".

• Sang-Moo Lee, Kyungsoo Lee, and Seoeun Choi attended the AGU 2023 conference held in San Francisco, CA, USA.

• Prof. Lee and two graduate students (Kyungsoo Lee and Seoeun Choi) gave their poster presentations during the conference.

• Sang-Moo Lee, Byung-Ju Sohn, Sanghee Jun, Joonhee Kim, Heesung Jung, and Doyeon Kim attended KMS fall meeting held in Busan.

• We had a small seminar with seven presentations by SML students and Dr. Huang gave invaluable comments.
